British Airways asks Wiggins to turn left

The former World’s favourite airline can still get something right. BA declined to upgrade Boris Johnson, not that I have anything against the Turk but he is, after all, merely a politician while moving Bradley Wiggins into First class. I suppose he would struggle to get those long legs into an Economy seat. Well done BA.

Have you got anything against the Belgium/Australian (father) Wiggins, he is masivly over rated in the uk mainly becuase the brits don’t on the whole know anything about cycling and think that the track is big time, they don’t know that it is the carling cup, no sorry, the second dividion of the cycling world.
If Wigins was that good he would go for the time trial on the road, in the olyimpics, (where he would not even get top ten).
By the way all people of Britain are foreigners, as pre historic Britain had no humans as it was too cold etc, so all British DNA is Spanish anyway.
The British track squad should be ashamed for them selves, accepting all those millions just to win a gold by 2 seconds instead of 1 second, my friends dad went to hospital last month with very mild bronchites, made a complete and full recovery from that, but got MRSA and died. And that awfull Indian man ‘Lord’ Coe just doesn’t care about the state of the country, he just wants to sho off in front of Bush and Merkel. Ridiculous.
How come Ian Huntley did’nt get inspired by Jason Qualey in 2000 with his gold in the kilo, and stop doing crime. Atlanta was supposed to stop crime and boost the economy in the area, and now it is even worse than before the Olympics..

All UK peoples are of Iberian, Germanic and Celtic blood too, Anglo Saxon, the Angles (where Anglo comes from) were a race of people from Germany, and the Saxons from Saxony in France, so the Brits are more mongrel then allmost anywhere else in the world.
Why don’t you have your DNA examined ? see where you come from, it won’t be the UK, ironically could even be Turkey

A politician should be miles more important then an athlete, politicains should work for the people of a nation to protect and improve there welfare etc etc, where as an athelete only uses up a countries vital financial resources for a means to an end. Boris Jonhnson is also a real cyclist, unlike Cammeron, and he fights for us cyclists, he has allready ordered the phasing out of the bendy bus, which injures and kills cyclists.
Just goes to show the state of the country if all you lot care about is athletes, and see politicians negatively,as ‘only’…..it shows that politicians in the UK are crap, and also that the people of the uk don’t even care about politicians and what they do (or should be doing)..
Oh well, good luck with your crime ridden UK,

IF YOU CALL BORRIS JOHNSON ‘TURK’, IN THAT CASE WHAT DO YOU CALL CHRISTINE OHURUGU ? ? ?
INCIDENTLY, LAST YEAR WHEN MICHAEL RASMUSEN MISSED 3 DOPING CONTROLS AND WAS NOT IN THE PLACE HE SAID HE WAS, ALL OF BRITAIN HATED HIM AND WERE VERY SUSPICIOUS OF HIM etc, ‘ DEFINATLY BEING A DOPER’ etc, etc….BUT WHEN OHURUGU DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING BUT GOT A GOLD MEDAL FOR BRITAIN, ALMOST NO BODY SAYS A WORD AT ALL, DOUBLE STANDARDS.

greenjersey finds it hard enough to keep up with all the cycling doping scandals without worrying about runners but I dont think it is true to say that the Rasmussen and Ohurugu cases are “exactly the same”. Rasmussen was pulled out of the 2007 Tour by his team Rabobank for allegedly lying about his whereabouts (he had said he was in Mexico when in fact he was training in the Dolomites). He was subsequently suspended for two years by the Monaco Cycling Federation for missing tests and lying to the UCI. In his defence it seems probable that Rabobank team management knew what he was up to. I don’t think Ohurugu has been accused of lying and her “scatterbrained” excuse is, at least, plausable unlike Rasmussen not knowing what continent he was on! I dont think it is true to say all of Britain hated Rasmussen. Cycling fans have had to learn to live with doping scandals. Virtually all pro roadmen have form for doping so why single out Rasmussen? The English are, however, proud that in Boardman and Wiggins we have two riders that are untainted.

What does wiggins and boardman have to do with it, all countries have 2 athletes untainted.

Not exactly the same cases but a very notable Daily Mail journalist who must remain name less for legal reasons, has written a big column on Ohurugu is suspect, and highly tainted. It does not matter if you say you are in another country or another area, not being available for doping control is not being available for doping control.

Wow – am amazed to see how far off topic this reply thread has got.

@Jo – I think you’re missing the point that greenjersey is making in response to your comment posting. You brought up the subject of Ohurugu and Rasmussen, and greenjersey was just commenting that of all the current and favourite British cyclists out there, we Brits are proud of Wiggins and Boardman for not being tainted with doping scandals.

@Ted – a politician should never be more important than anyone else. They are just a normal person like you and me. It’s just that they have chosen a job that serves our needs. Just as you choose to work for a company that serves your customers needs. No difference at all.
