Worthing Excelsior C. & A.C.

This photo of the Worthing Excelsior was taken in 1913 on the A24 “Findon Road” north of Worthing. I wonder how many of those young men survived the Great War? Albert Wren, whose daughter provided the photo, is sixth from the right. He volunteered at the start of hostilities and was taken as a prisoner of war. That experience badly affected his physical and mental health and on his return he abandoned the bike.
